Fredericksburg:
On the fourth weekend in June the annual Antique
Tractor Show occurs on a local ranch nearby.
The LBJ (Lyndon B. Johnson) Ranch and State Park
(the first Texas
White House) is close by and is open for tours daily. His birthplace, which is also a State Park, is 15 minutes to
the West in Johnson City
Additional attractions include
Wildseed Farm, the largest commercial producer of wild
flower seeds, many local wineries that have tasting rooms
and gift shops, and Fredericksburg, an original German
settlement that is over 150 years old, and boasts of the
Admiral Nimitz Museum and the George Bush, Sr. Pacific
Theater Museum. An
event to note is the Weinnachten
Christmas Tree Forest. An annual event that
benefits a host of local charities.
The Stonewall area is known for its
peaches and every year visitors travel from far and wide
to savor our crop. Stonewall hosts its annual Peach JAMboree during the third
weekend in June.
Luckenbach is
another community situated not far
from Stonewall. Luckenbach is the home of Willie
Nelson!
Johnson
